Though historians scoff, pilgrims whisper this fragment as proof of the Arboreus Ūnicornis — a beast whose tears once drowned a sea, and whose silence birthed a forest.
You do such a wonderful job of immersing the reader by placing the written material within the actual story. It makes the reader more interested in what the character finds because they are discovering it along with the character.
I wonder what happens when a magic forest turns to ash, what manner of beast may emerge. Glad to see the House of Wisdom gains another academic!! Great entry!!
Thank you very much. I was enthralled by the story you were able to put together within the confines of the word count. You definitely set a benchmark for the series. I loved your use of forgotten measurements to leave the size and nature mysterious. A definite benchmark for the series!
Thank you so much for both reading, and hosting this wonderful project. I can't wait to see where the other writers of Substack take this fantastical world

Wonderful details in the worldbuilding, too.
Thank you! The codex was such an inedible protect, big props to The Chronicler for organizing!

Fascinating to depict a forest as a sea. Much to consider in this regard…
Congratulations on your return! We missed your flavor of fiction here.
Such an interesting take on the unicorn!
