Time Runs Short with much Left to Do — Author’s Notes #6
The Stasis collection is nearing the end of its run. With it, brings some important decisions, and huge announcements for the future of Cole's Chapters
What an Eventful Week it’s Been!
This week, Cole’s Chapters crossed the 200 subscriber milestone. I’m thrilled by the support this community has shown me. Going from 101-200 was a lot easier than going from 0–1.
More people than ever are reading my work, and as a writer, I’m thrilled I can share my stories with you.
I hope that things continue in this direction.
I’m also proud to announce that this Sunday, I will be releasing the first episode of my new show, “Authors and Embers.”
If you haven’t heard yet, it’s a table read/interview show modeled around the idea of swapping stores around a campfire. It was a blast to record, and I can’t wait to share. I’m trying to set it up so that paid subscribers get access a day early, but I’m not 100% sure how the paywall feature works with podcast episodes.
Astute readers may wonder what will happen to my publishing schedule, since the next episode of Montauk is due to drop this Sunday. Well—I hope you don’t mind waiting an extra week.
The End of an Era
Time really flies. We only have one major story left in the Stasis Collection, before we move onto the next one. When that day comes, Stasis stories will be moved to my archives, where they will be available to paid subscribers only. Then, the hard work begins to edit and publish.
I’m making careful decisions about what to include in the actual anthology. There will be some stories you’ve seen, some you haven’t.
But I’m trying to avoid ones that FEEL similar. Enter, “Settlement Offer.” Better known as “I deserved the Divorce,” or IDTD. I am considering making this story a part of the collection somehow.
I will have a poll next week where you can weigh in on how it should be included. Paid subscribers will also get to see a revised story draft that aims to solve this issue.
Publishing Progress
Speaking of which, I’m absolutely floored by the support you have all shown recently. If you didn’t know, my goal has always been to use this publication as a way to cover the cost of bringing my books to market. The number of paid subscribers determines how many books I can publish each year, and how much I can spend marketing them.
Right now I’m 40% of the way toward fully covering the cost of 1 book in 2024. I am extremely grateful for this financial support.
If you would like to subscribe to help me meet those goals, you can do so by clicking the button below.
Cole’s Chapters, in the Media
In other news, YouTube Narrator “Scary JUJU,” enjoyed one of my stories enough to put together a video and share with his tens of thousands of followers. Check it out!

I’m taking part in another Fan Giveaway, put together by C.L. Cannon. The idea is pretty simple. You sign up to win the prize pool you see below, and you get to discover some new authors.

Thank You for Reading!
To ensure you don’t miss future installments, subscribe to Cole’s Chapters! A free subscription will get you access to the collection’s four core stories, until it moves into the Premium Archives and another collection begins.
Upgrading to paid, means you will get a bonus story! You’ll also get several extra episodes of the Montauk Serial Novella. On top of that, you also support my work as a writer, which I think is pretty rad.
If you don’t have the money for a paid subscription, telling a friend about me is pretty cool too. Getting your words in front of eyeballs is honestly harder than doing the actual writing and editing…
